This charming home is the ideal way to enjoy life in this popular part of the Granada province and accommodate guests at the same time. The current owner has enjoyed the property over the last 21 years and has done a tremendous amount to make it a comfortable home.  Whether for permanent residence or as a holiday home, the location is perfect for enjoying the peace and privacy but it is not isolated – just off the Lanjaron to Orgiva road and just a 2km drive into Orgiva itself.

The property comprises two traditional Spanish farmhouses with a total of 5 or 6 bedrooms depending how you want to make the layout work.

The mature gardens and the space between the two houses make it ideal for the owner to reside in one and rent out the other – don’t forget, there are two pools and two separate garden areas so there is never any conflict for taking a dip in the summer heat.  Each of the houses has its own individual entrance ensuring the owners and guests can enjoy their own privacy.

Walking distance of a range of bar/restuarants…

The current owner has always walked to these local bar/restaurants, even when dark, and on her own, but always carry a torch at night!
Oreallana Bar:  this is a very ethnic place known locally as Paco’s Bar.  It is small but good tapas is on offer when you get to know Paco better! Atmospheric.
Venta Maria:  this is more of a restaurant and offers excellent food, mainly Italian, but some really nice meat and fish dishes.  It’s the place the owner always uses when she is entertaining friends.
The Nazari is just before you reach Orgiva itself so within the two Km’s.  A decent spot with reasonable food.  Open 24/7 and a good hotel to use if you need rooms to accommodate guests.
Camping Alpujarra:  very good food, cheap and lots of it, but to the owner, it is in need of a bit more atmosphere. Like lots of Spanish bars, it is spotless and busy at weekends.


The accommodation of both houses…

The main house has an attractive covered porch overlooking the gardens and pool, and is built in the traditional Alpujarran country style with wooden beamed ceilings. The living accommodation is open plan with lots of light flowing in from the dual aspect.  The living room is arranged on two levels, creating different zones for relaxing and dining.  A wood burning stove is ideal for the cooler months. The kitchen is open plan to the living space and has a window overlooking the gardens.

There are three large double bedrooms in the main house and with one of these, you have further flexibility where the bedroom has a small living room, en-suite shower room and separate access to the garden. This bedroom could easily be used as separate accommodation.

The second bedroom has its own shower room and French doors opening onto the garden.

The third has a bathroom with natural light from an overhead atrium.

There is a large central hallway, accessing a walk-in pantry with shelving and granite worktop, and a fourth (single) bedroom, currently serving as an office. The upper level has a terrace overlooking the pool and with fine views to the south to the Sierra Lujar and the Guadalfeo valley

The guest house is completely separate from the main house and is built of stone which runs through the interior styling. This is the ideal way to create income whilst enjoying a relaxed lifestyle but if you don’t want the additional work, you can always use this for friends and family who come to stay. Everyone maintains their own privacy and seclusion and with two double bedrooms, it can accommodate two couples or families.

A generous living room opens onto the private terrace and gardens and then the swimming pool. It has a sunny aspect but also comes with a wood burning stove for the cooler months. An archway leads through to the kitchen which has space for a small dining table.

This house comes with a fitted shower room and a laundry room.

The guest house enjoys a private vine shaded terrace and a garden/orchard and the swimming pool with plenty of space for sunbathing and relaxing.

The gardens have been a labour of love for the current owner who has created a mature and private environment for both houses.  Each house comes with terrace space which is the ideal way to relax and enjoy the best of the weather.

Lawned areas, sunbathing space and of course, there is a swimming pool for each house!

The gardens are arranged on various levels and total just less than half an acre in total.  The gardens and a delight with many palmss, plenty of citrus trees and various patios or terraces to sit and relax in the shade.

The land comes with irrigation water rights to ensure the gardens never look tired and ensures that there is always a lemon available to pick for that G&T

There is plenty of parking available for the owners and any guests.

Orgiva and the Alpujarras

Orgiva has long been a popular destination for people looking to relax into a traditional Spanish way of life.  The bustling village has plenty to offer and it is possible to walk the 2km from the house to the village.

Just a short stroll away are a choice of bar/restaurants so this location really does offer the best of both worlds.

The area is always extremely popular with holiday visitors and there is every chance to create a good income from the separate accommodation within this property.

Access is good to the rest of the Alpujarras and you can be on the beaches of the Costa Tropical in just over half an hour.
