3 double bedrooms, 2 shower rooms and 1 family bathroom. 227M2 built set in just under 13,000M2 of land.
Yunquera is located within the beautiful Sierra de las Nieves National Park and this property benefits from stunning 360 degree panoramic views across the village itself, of the surrounding countryside, mountains and towards the sea. The village benefits from a wide range of bars, restaurants, shops and other amenities expected from a village of this size.
An off-the-grid home with superb Eco credentials. Large solar panels are in place as well as a wind turbine to generate electricity (with storage batteries) plus a private & registered water well provides ample water for year round living. The land is perfect for a kitchen garden and there is an outbuilding ideal for the keeping of animals, if desired.
The property is accessed via a track leading from the village with a number of neighbours dotted along the route, so you never feel isolated. However, when you arrive at the property itself, you can escape the hustle and bustle of modern life and enjoy peace, tranquilty and privacy.
The property was reformed a little over 10 years ago but dates back as far as 1950. Homes of this age always have the best locations!
Accommodation includes; includes a large glazed conservatory which connects the inside of house with the outside and the pool and patio area. There is a large entrance veranda to the front of the house, ideal for soaking up the sun in the morning or enjoying the shade later in the day. The front door opens into a large living room which has a feature fireplace with a wood burning stove, a beamed ceiling and an archway through to the separate kitchen
The kitchen is well fitted with lots of wall and base units, topped off with granite work surfaces. All the usual appliances are fitted including a range oven and hob, an American style fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.
There are three large double bedrooms, two with en-suite shower rooms plus a further family/guest bathroom which has a full bath and shower over.
Outside; The pool area is a delight with a large 8M x 4M pool and sun terrace, surrounded by a wall that gives complete privacy but does not block out the view. The conservatory is a superb sun trap for sunny yet cooler days. A moorish philosopher once said ‘Spain is a cold country with hot sun’ and during the mid winter months often this is proven to be true.
The land area measures a little under 13,000M2 and comes with grapevines and an orchard of chestnut trees, walnut, almond, cherries and an olive grove. The owner produces her own organic olive oil, as the land has been maintained without pesticides or fertilisers.
There is a large storehouse, that could potentially be converted for a variety of uses, either animals, chickens or storage, with a fenced vegetable garden to the front.
The house really does offer the best of both worlds: a secluded location yet not remote. There are neighbours along the 2km track to the village and Yunquera is a well appointed village (with little need to go much further unless you need something specific).

The Eco lifestyle and self sufficiency
A large 5.2kw solar and wind turbine set-up that is a 48v system with 24 batteries of 2v each. This provides the energy for all the usual appliances including the swimming pool. There is a generator which starts automatically if ever needed.
The water supply is from a deep well (110m) which is a plentiful supply of water as Yunquera is the source of the Rio Grande. This is a private water supply and the well is registered.
There are currently 2 x 2,000 litre storage tanks which serve the house. A further 2,000 litre tank is also used for irrigation although this is not necessary for the current trees (but would be helpful for bringing on a fabulous kitchen garden).
The land area really does allow for the creation of a self-sufficient lifestyle with plenty of room for home grown fruit and vegetables. The current orchard and olive grove could easily be added to in the future.
Living with a low carbon footprint is a real opportunity here but you don’t have to feel isolated or disconnected from village life. The vibrant village close by is easy to integrate into because it is so welcoming. A number of neighbours also live an Eco life with animals and off grid properties.
