Iznajar and the surrounding area has life and vibrancy year round.  It does not shut during the winter because the population is over 4,500 residents who need bars, restaurants and amenities to be open for them and of course, tourists are welcome!

This is ‘real Spain’ with authentic charm and genuinely locals who welcome all.

Cycling, rock climbing, walking, bird watching, photography and painting are popular with tourists visiting the area.  Sailing and non motorised water sports plus fishing are popular on the lake.

Winter visitors can enjoy sunbathing on the roof terrace by day and the comfort of a centrally heated house and wood burning stoves during the evening.

The location of the property is ideal for guests to visit all the major cities of Andalucia… Granada, Cordoba, Malaga and Antequera are all less than, or just over 1 hour away.  Sevilla is approximately 2 hours drive.

La Celada Village

Casa La Celada is located in the very heart of La Celada village, on the West side of the Plaza de San Jose. The village has a population of approximately 600 and enjoys many festivals and street parties.

The Fiesta de San Jose is on 19th March each year, held in the plaza and literally on the doorstep. Frequent village lunches and evening meals are held throughout the year to include, huge paellas to be enjoyed by all. Three Kings is on 6th January and is the main Christmas event with street celebrations and donkey drawn carts offering gifts for the children.

There is an open market in La Celeda each week.

The village is lucky enough to have its own quality Primary School, in a new building for children up to the age of 10/11, complete with sports ground.

The village also has an outside gym open to all year round.

A bus leaves La Celada for Iznajar at 7am – returning at 10pm. From Iznajar you can get a connecting bus to all the major towns and villages in the area.


Iznajar has a lively population of over 4,500.

The Fiesta de San Isidro is held on Lake Iznajar each year – a celebration of horses, flamenco, floats and fun.

The lake offers several beach bars and eateries, outdoor gymnasium, swimming pools and free tennis courts.

Historic Iznajar has all manner of amenities to include, a 24hr medical centre, schools for all ages, shops, bars, restaurants, dentist, hairdresser, barber and the list goes on.  Everything needed for every day living.

Larger towns and cities for modern day amenities

Rute is where you would probably go for major supermarket shopping and large purchases. It is approximately 10 mins drive North (8km).

20 minutes’ drive finds you in Lucena, a significantly larger town with a huge Carrefour hypermarket and large factory outlets for furniture, lightning etc.

The city of Antequera with World Heritage Status is just 45 mins’ drive away and here you will find everything you need.

The cities of Cordoba, Granada and Malaga are also available as desired.
