Few village homes can boast such a convenient location for modern day living with private outdoor space and views like this one.  The house is surrounded by unique and very beautiful countryside that is specially protected.  From the village a walking trail takes you on the Camino Mozarabe de Santiago which, in its entirety, goes all the way from Malaga city to Santiago de Compostela (a very world famous pilgrim route – turned hiking trail).

The complex the village house is located within

There are only two gated complexes in Villanueva de la Concepcion and this one is the best and well established!  Equally, there are only a few houses within this community, the rest are apartments and this house has the only large roof terrace.  The community is not large and the community fees are very reasonable at under €36 per month.  There are two gated entrances with intercom facilities and this property sits just above the lower entrance which is very convenient.

The house is not for those who want living over one floor.  There are steps up to the house and then the accommodation is over two floors plus a third floor brings you to the glorious roof terrace.

The community accounts are well managed for maintenance of the complex as required.  The communal areas are cleaned every week and the complex has a feeling of being well looked after.  Also, most of the apartments and the other house are lived in.  It is not a ghost community made up of empty holiday homes.  There are just a few holiday apartments and the majority are permanently lived in and enjoyed locals.


The house is very unique in as much as it is shaped like the prow of a ship and comes to a point.  The only property in the complex like this.

Ground floor:

Entrance hall… leads into the living/dining room, kitchen/utility room, ground floor w.c. and marble stairs rising to the first floor.

Kitchen… is a very light and bright room with fully fitted base and wall units in a Shaker style that suits the location.  There is a breakfast bar, pantry and door into the utility room.  The view from the kitchen window is over the gardens below, across roof tops, down onto the street below and also of mountain ranges that surround the village in the distance.

Utility room… is accessed through a glazed door from the kitchen and houses a traditional laundry sink, washing machine plus storage shelves.  Brick glazing is on two sides of this room which is the ‘prow of the ship’ and is ideal for drying washing on an airer in the sunshine that floods the room.

W.C… is a very convenient little room under the stairs and ideal so that you do not have to go up stairs to use the family bathroom.  It contains a white w.c. and white hand basin.

First floor:

An airy first floor landing… gives access to all the bedrooms and family bathroom plus marble stairs rise up to the roof terrace from here.

Bedroom 1 (a double)… is at the ‘prow of the ship’ and is a delightful room.  The almost triangular end of the room has windows on three sides of ‘the point’ and is a charming feature in the room.  There is another window next to the bed plus fitted wardrobes and space for furnishings.  It is a light filled room with amazing views of the Montes de Malaga mountain ranges below the village.

Bedroom 2 (large double) is a very spacious room with enormous fitted wardrobes.  A lovely room that has a window that overlooks the inner courtyard of the complex.

Bedroom 3 (small double) has a bed that can be used as a single or double with a very clever folding bed system.  There is a small wardrobe and furniture.

Family bathroom… is not the largest bathroom but it has a full suite of vanity unit, shortened bath with shower over, w.c. and bidet in white.

Third floor:

Accommodates the most wonderful roof terrace that has views on three sides and takes in; to the North, virtually the entire El Torcal Mountain Range that looks like a crocodile if you have imagination!  To the South you enjoy views of the Montes de Malaga mountain ranges that stretch down to the coast.  Between Malaga city and Torremolinos, on a clear day it is possible to see the Mediterranean Sea. To the West, you immediately look over the rooftops of the village and in the distance, the Sierrania de Ronda mountain range.

The roof terrace… makes this village house very special.  There is a cosy corner with a pergola that retracts depending if you want sun or shade.  There is ample room for 4 or even 6 to dine comfortably and the orientation of the roof terrace ensures sun from breakfast until supper and perhaps a G&T or glass of Rioja!


Internet is currently provided on a, ‘use when you are at the property basis’ with a 5MB download.  This costs €24 per month when used and of course, this service is available on a permanent basis.  Equally, there is Fibre Optic Broadband available if preferred.

The land-line telephone is not currently connected but again, this can be quickly and easily connected if desired.

International TV is currently watched by the British owners via the Internet.


Villanueva de la Concepcion… is a village/small town that thrives and bustles all year round.  It is a working village that has income from agriculture, some clothes manufacturing businesses, olive mills, agricultural co-ops and numerous shops, DIY stores, bars and restaurants, a large medical centre (24 hr with ambulance), nursery school, middle school and senior school, language centre and more.

The village is a hidden gem that few foreigners have discovered which keeps it special and authentic part of Andalucia. It is amazing that this village has remained such a secret for so long because it is superbly located and set within some of the most stunning landscape in Andalucia.  The setting is exceptional because the village is on the cross roads of Andalucia with excellent access immediately South to the cultural and historic old quarter of Malaga city (35 mins’ drive or take the bus!).  Or, North to historic and stunning Antequera city that has world heritage status for the dolmens (20 mins’ drive or take the bus!).  Equally, Granada city and airport can be reached in (1 hours’ drive or take the train from Antequera into the city), Cordoba in 1 hours’ drive or take the train from Antequera) plus Sevilla a little further North by car or train.

The high speed AVE central city Antequera train station will be completed in 2019 and this will whisk you all over Spain.

Malaga airport is 40 mins’ drive away and here many airlines fly in numerous times per day from all over Europe. There are internal flights to the islands plus some International flights also.

Granada airport is just under 1 hour away and here several airlines fly in per day from various European countries to include the UK.
