Access to the villa and location
The villa is accessed via a well maintained 1.5km track from the country road between Villanueva de la Concepcion and Almogia.
The villa is less than 4km to the village of Almogia which has a range of services and amenities including a 24 hour medical centre with on-stand-by ambulance.
Almogia also has a good size supermarket, weekly open market, independent shops, bars and restaurants, sports centre and feria ground.
Pastelero is located midway between Almogia and Villanueva de la Concepcion and offers two superb local ventas, bar/restaurants.
They serve local cuisine and people drive up from Malaga at the weekends to appreciate the great food.
Villanueva de la Concepcion is the small town at the foothills of the El Torcal Natural Park and mountain range. Here you will find a larger array of amenities, bars and restaurants.
Antequera is known as the crossroads of Andalucia and is as historic as it is beautiful. The pavement bars and cafes create a lovely atmosphere and the many parks and cultural events make this a great place to spend time. If you want to avoid the coast, this city has everything you would need and can be reached in less than 30mins.
Malaga city is a 35 minute drive away and here you can find everything a modern city provides. Often overlooked is the historic old town of Malaga city and the contemporary marina.
Los Alamos beach is the closest beach to the villa and can be reached in 40 minutes. It is known by the Spanish but again, often missed by the holiday makers. It is located between Malaga city and Torremolinos, has superb facilities and is pristine.
El Chorro Gorge (the Caminito del Rey) and the Malaga Lakes continue to appeal to visitors for their natural beauty. Swimming and water sports are available on bright blue lake water and there are guided walks that can be booked on the Kings Walk that clings high up to the side of the gorge.
Viewing the villa
The current owner has not been able to visit the villa as regularly as needed in recent years and he accepts that it needs a fair bit of TLC. There appears to be nothing substantial – a bit of cleaning, decorating and a few improvements will make this a very comfortable year-round home or holiday home.
Because the owner doesn’t live in Spain, it is likely you will be met at the property by the key holder who can show you the property.
